I only have to say one thing:

"Work's always been too much work." ... lol

MAYBE this could be pulled off by voice actors who weren't like robots, with the right pause, or inflection. But even then, I don't know. XD

Nice sort of realism.

Nice sort of realism. If you were going for funny maybe you'd have Micky actually perform the stuff. Like the guy takes him back home and he re-enacts Steam Boat or Phantasia or something, that would be a neat gag. But as it stands it was more depressing than funny. Realistic in a sense. Not sure what you were going for buts its fairly well done. Try to do something happier next time I'm sort of sick of seeing depressing stuff. Pretty much everything out there these days is depressing, arrogant, or violent. Its like those people who say 'I'm different from everyone else' no your not, everyone says and thinks that. lol

The sound reminds me of classic new grounds cartoons, like Matzereth .. etc.. (I know probably didn't spell that right). Because of the reverb cheapness but I like it. Nice little cartoon! :)

A for Effort

Lots of effort in the animation. I can tell it was a lot of work. But I didn't care for the voices, the jokes, and even the animation was cheap and dodgy. Kind of like my stuff. And I never get good scores either. lol

I hate to break it to you but I think you got such a good score/reviews because of the content and the name "Awesome". Its the awesome series, and its a popular game, otherwise you would have been unfairly shit on like the rest of us.

This cartoon gives me the feeling like its a first, or something close to it, so I think you will be great in no time. Work on your writing, and try to use your normal voice more often because I bet it would be nicer than putting on a voice that doesn't suit you.

All in all I'm impressed by the effort and I know how hard animation and all of that is so I really enjoyed and appreciate how much work you put into it. And the animation wasn't terrible, it just needed polishing. Some of the artwork was really good, which tells me you could probably draw almost this whole thing much better if you had the patience. If you don't have the patience I understand and don't hold it against you. lol

Anyways, good effort. Lots of potential! :D

This is a great review! Lemme run-down it...

I'll have to disagree with it being a popular game; yeah, people have heard of it, but it's nowhere near, like, Gears of War status or anything advertised in the US. However, looking at the copious amounts of "10's" I get in reviews, which honestly I completely disagree with, it is possible that SOME of the tens were a direct result of it being affiliated with the "Awesome" parodies.

However, as I've said time-and-time again, I have no intention of doing another Awesome flash in the future. About the closest thing to it is I might be picking up Zone of the Awesome where it left off as an NG exclusive web-comic donning the conceptual comic title, "Zone of the Blenders"

...Ehhh, I'll work on the title later...but whatever!

You're right...this and my previous flash are about the extent of my experience in animation. Since I laid the foundation of ZoA all wrong, and learned from TONS of mistakes animating it, I have confidence my future projects will be developed smoother and quicker than this.

Voice Acting

Even though you ripped off Carl, I am still very happy that this is one of the EXTREMLY few cartoons on Newgrounds with GOOD voice acting, on all sides. Nice job. I really like the audio and the overall dialogue. Well done! :)

Carl is a jersey accented character, mine is NY. Other than that, they are overweight and dress like slobs :( That's all the comparison I've ever been able to make.

I can see the Marc M influence in your writing, and in your voicing.

Your voice is a bit too smooth (like mine) too pull of this kind of humor, but the writing was really good and the art and animation too. I really liked it on the whole.

Your voice is good though, unlike 99% of people on NG's who ruin their cartoons with shitty regular-guy voices. Your voice sounds like you were meant to talk, but it doesn't fit this kind of humor. I'm not sure what kind of humor fits voices like ours but its not this kind. For this kind you need a voice like Marc M.

I would suggest you try to be less influenced, and try more to find your voice, find your funny, find the type of humor that suites your delivery. And then tell me what it is so I can do it too lol

Anyways overall, I liked this a lot, great job man! :D
